Litigator

Matt Tidball is a highly skilled litigator with extensive experience in the defense of employers and insurers in workers’ compensation matters, civil litigation, insurance subrogation, slip and falls, motor vehicle accidents, construction defects and representing condominium associations in owner disputes. He attended Saint Joseph’s University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Philosophy in 2000. In 2003, he obtained his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

Matt initially pursued a law degree with the intention of using his legal training in pursuit of an unrelated career. However, after taking a trial advocacy course, he was captivated by the art of persuasion, interweaving the facts with the law, and the competitive nature of litigation. Matt then chose to focus on litigation where he could hone his skills and passion for advocacy.

Matt is a highly respected and sought-after litigator who is committed to providing his clients with the best possible representation and goal-oriented results.  Matt has handled thousands of workers’ compensation matters on behalf of a wide array of employers, from small family businesses to large corporations. He has also successfully defended hundreds of civil litigation matters, including many cases through a jury trial verdict.   With a strong focus on his clients’ needs, Matt provides practical and effective solutions that minimize risks and maximize opportunities for success.

Matt is also an active member of the legal community and has served as the chair of the Montgomery County, Maryland Workers’ Compensation Section. He also participated in the Maryland State Bar Leadership Academy and currently serves on the Board for the Maryland State Bar Association Negligence, Insurance and Workers’ Compensation Section, where he is a past President.

Matt is admitted to the bars of Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia, and their respective Federal Courts, including Maryland, D.C. and the Eastern District of Virginia.

Matt, his wife, Kris, and three children reside in Towson, Maryland. In their leisure time, they enjoy attending their kids’ sports games, outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing and playing with their dog, Dash.  Matt also spends free time trying to play an “adequate” rhythm guitar.
