Litigator
Jennifer “Jenni” Kenel
Jenni was born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland, but relocated to West Virginia in August of 2014 to complete her collegiate education. Jenni is a two-time alumnus of West Virginia University. Go Mountaineers! In December of 2017, Jenni graduated Cum Laude from the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences with a B.A. in Criminology and a Minor in Political Science. After completing her undergraduate studies, Jenni decided to pursue her Juris Doctorate at the West Virginia University College of Law where she graduated Order of the Barristers with Pro Bono Distinction.
During her time at the College of Law, Jenni served as the President of the Marlyn E. Lugar Trial Association and the Secretary for the Class of 2021. Jenni was also an active member of the Women’s Leadership Council, Public Interest Advocates, and Animal Legal Defense Fund. During her third year of law school, Jenni participated in WVU’s Veteran’s Advocacy Clinic and assisted veterans with obtaining legal services for a variety of matters.
Prior to joining GodwinTirocchi, Jenni was an Assistant State’s Attorney for Charles County and worked at a plaintiff’s collections firm trying cases in the District and Circuit Courts of Maryland.
When Jenni isn’t at work, she enjoys hiking with her dogs Oshie and Apollo, riding her horses Godiva and Venus, reading while enjoying a glass of wine or cup of coffee, and feuding with her husband over who has better sports teams, the Baltimore/Washington area or Pittsburgh. Yes, she is aware that her husband’s choice of sports teams is … questionable to say the least.
