James “Jim” A. Turner

Jim Turner was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland. He attended Northeastern University and received a Bachelor’s degree in political science. Jim graduated cum laude from the American University Washington College of Law. During law school, Jim served as an editor of the American University Law Review, a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, and a Legal Rhetoric Dean’s Fellow. Jim’s comment, “The Post-Medellin Case for Legislative Standing” was published in the American University Law Review and won the Lura E. Turley Award for Outstanding Publication. Following law school, Jim served as a judicial law clerk to Judge Steven G. Salant in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County.

Jim concentrates his practice on the defense of workers’ compensation and general liability claims in Maryland and the District of Columbia. He has appeared before administrative law judges in Maryland and D.C., district and circuit courts in Maryland, the Supreme Court of Maryland, and the Appellate Court of Maryland.

Jim, his wife Julia, and two children live in Montgomery County, Maryland.
